The pompano bite is really good right now in and around the John's Pass area. Also, most local beaches are turning up some pompano as well. The sheepshead and mangrove snapper bite are still very good around the manatee river. The trout fishing lately has been off the hook in Miguel Bay, I've been primarily using soft plastics by Zman and hard baits by Mirrolure when targeting all my fish on artificial.I have personally been catching a lot of these fish in the 5ft depth. It seems to be the sweet spot for this time of year. I apologize that I can't give you guys more insight on live bait but whether your using artificial or live bait late spring early summer is a great time of year to be out on the water fishing.
